Yadavindra Department of Engineering (YDoE) was established in the year 2004, formerly known as Yadavindra College of Engineering in the Punjabi University Guru Kashi Campus, Talwandi Sabo. YDoE provides state of the art education in the field of technology. B.Tech. 6 years Integrated Courses and B.Tech. 4 year & M.Tech. courses are taught in the streams of Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering (with optional minor degree in CSE) along with MCA Courses, Diploma Courses in engineering and job-oriented certificate courses. YDoE has proved to be a catalyst for the overall development of this region.
Yadavindra Department of Engineering (YDoE) is a known in the Northern India for providing technical education preferably to rural area students in certain courses. The College is successfully running B.Tech. 6 years integrated course and associated Golden Hearts Scholarship Scheme for the students from the rural area. It was a novel idea implemented by the Punjabi University, Patiala through this college for the development of needy and intelligent students from the rural area. In the B.Tech. 6 years integrated course 10+1 & 10+2 Non-medical and Diploma in Engineering is taught under module-I and then the students are promoted to Module-II to complete the B.Tech. Course. The students admitted in this course and eligible for the scholarship are provided interest free loan to complete the course under the Golden Hearts Scholarship Scheme.
Yadavindra Department of Engineering is an outcome of a bold and a noble step taken by the Punjabi University, Patiala for providing quality education in the field of engineering & technology to the needy and deserving people living in the rural areas. The University took a serious view about the facilities, services and opportunities available to the people of the rural areas compared to those of the urban areas. People living in cities have better schools & colleges, better teachers, better hospitals, better doctors, better transportation and communication systems etc., while on the other hand the villagers are deprived of such facilities. On account of character, the villagers in general, are more humble, honest and sympathetic and have patience and a capacity to sacrifice. However, for want of opportunities and services available to them; they have been left far behind compared to their counter parts living in cities and thus are unable to complete with the urban area people on the basis of academic merit. The University has taken a bold and a noble decision to embrace such children of villagers and uplift them by providing them with better technical education. With this in mind, the University decided to setup the Yadavindra Department of Engineering in 2004 for the people from the rural area. This college is housed in building having a covered area of more than 75,000 sq. ft., situated in Guru Kashi Campus of Punjabi University, Patiala at Talwandi Sabo. This department is equipped with the latest and modern equipment in the various labs, workshops, library, computer centre etc. and has a highly qualified faculty. Many of the students of the department are successfully placed in the renowned companies through the placement cell of Punjabi University, Patiala and the alumni are successful in the different walks of technical field.

“ Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world “----Nelson Mandela
Education plays a key role in the overall development of the society. The role of education is definitely not limited to giving and grasping knowledge and theory. It drives away ignorance and through illumination it emboldens a man to a righteous thought and action. It is a privilege to serve as the Head of Yadavindra Department of Engineering, Talwandi Sabo, a prestigious institution that has an established reputation of academic achievements and the prospects of a conducive learning environment. The holistic approach of the institute stimulates innovation among students by inspiring fresh ideas with different perceptiveness, creative thinking and strong convention. Our department cares for the individual development of each and every student. Our faculty strives to teach not only academic program but also live skills needed for students’ self-development. Our curriculum, course offering and co-curricular offerings aim towards growth to our students. To refine the necessary attitude, aptitude and skills to achieve placements in corporate sector, the institute is supportive to the students by arranging periodical tests and group interaction exercises. We endeavor to equip our students with both technical and management skills so that they may contribute to the industry being excellent professionals. Spacious green campus, large library and peaceful atmosphere ensure that learning can become a wonderful experience. Our students grow by leaps and bounds and so does our institution because we are sure that the success of our students is the impetus for the institution.
