About Placement Cell
Placement Cell of Guru Kashi Campus, Punjabi University Patiala is working in tandem with the ‘Finishing School: Career Counselling and Placement Cell’ of the Punjabi University Patiala. By maintaining contact with reputable organizations and industrial establishments, the Placement Cell plays a critical role in discovering training and work prospects for Undergraduates and Postgraduates graduating from the college. The Placement Cell is open round the year to make connections between employers and graduates. The number of students who have been placed as a result of campus interviews is steadily increasing. Many reputable industries come to the institute on invitation to conduct interviews.

Objectives
• Educating students to satisfy the needs of the industry's recruitment procedure.
• To encourage students to improve technical and soft skills in the areas of career planning and goal-setting.
• To encourage students to pursue further education by assisting them through competitive tests such as the CAT, GATE, TOEFL, GRE, IES, UPSC, TNPSC, and others.
• Trying to place as many students as possible through on-campus and off-campus interviews with prominent companies.
• To conduct a post-placement study and to take corrective action for non-selected pupils.

Message from the In-charge
It is a pleasure and a privilege for me to introduce to you a group of young, vibrant individuals who have been prepared to meet the difficulties that lie ahead for them in the industry and in the corporate world as a whole. This is a technologically advanced age. Waves of innovation are echoing around the world in the modern educational landscape. Guru Kashi Campus Punjabi University Patiala, Talwandi Sabo is one of the institutes that has progressed over time to meet the needs of the worldwide educational community. Our students' brilliance, great energy, and motivation, as well as their demanding work settings, ensure that they will succeed.
We want to broaden students' thoughts and instill a positive attitude in them through our curriculum, which aims to open new boundaries of knowledge and disclose new horizons of change. Aside from the curriculum, our students are exposed to a wealth of practical experience through guest lecturers, live industrial projects, and field trips. In addition, as part of their academic requirements, our graduate and postgraduate students of engineering and Masters of Computer Application do five-weeks summer/final semester internship in the reputed organizations. To improve their employability skills and equip students to tackle to business difficulties, mock tests and soft skill training on key areas are provided. By hosting guest lectures on a monthly basis, the cell also educates students about numerous career options in fields such as the public sector, armed forces, and government sector services. It gives me great pleasure to report that reputable companies from all around the country come to our centralized placement cell on a regular basis to recruit students. Last but not least, kudos to the students from all batches who have exemplified the traits and principles that the Institute promotes, while also guaranteeing the seamless and flawless conclusion of the placement season.

A Webinar on the importance of TOEFL & GRE General Test for the budding engineers Conducted on - 29/06/2022
The Placement Club of Yadavindra Department of Engineering (YDoE), Punjabi University Guru Kashi Campus, Talwandi Sabo in collaboration with Educational Testing Service (ETS) India Resource Center managed by DP Cube Learning, Noida organised a webinar on the topic ‘TOEFL and GRE General Test’ on 29 June, 2022, Wednesday for the engineering students of the department.
The keynote speaker for the webinar was Ms. Bhanu Sharma from ETS Resource Center managed by DP Cube Learning. The panellists also included Prof. Jasbir Singh Hundal, Director, Punjabi University Guru Kashi Campus and Prof. Simpel Rani Jindal, Head of the Yadavindra Department of Engineering. Dr. Balraj Singh Brar, Faculty Incharge of the Placement Club moderated the session. The placement team, faculty and students of the department attended the webinar. During the inauguration of the session, Prof. Jasbir Singh Hundal, Campus Director emphasised that such trainings and webinars play a key role in the motivation of the students. He further stated that such webinars/talks/workshops will be frequently organised by the Placement Cell of YDoE for the benefit of the students.
The keynote speaker Ms. Bhanu Sharma covered introduction to TOEFL-iBT and GRE General Test. TOEFL-iBt is Test of English as a Foreign Language-Internet based test and GRE means Graduate Record Examinations. Both these tests are conducted world-wide by Education Testing Service and can be reached at www.ets.org. The testing system is very intelligent and highly standardised, so resulting scores are very reliable. The speaker covered the complete information about the contents, structures, validity of the tests, registration, test centers, test preparations, exam scores and exam fees. She gave ample tips for higher scoring, preparation techniques, higher education opportunities and scholarships and funding opportunities for the students. The students were also apprised about academics, research and life at the international campuses of reputed educational institutions and also briefed about the post-study work opportunities.
The deliberations on the topic by the panellists and Question Answer Session emphasised the importance of TOEFL and GRE General Test for the undergraduate engineers. By clearing this combination of tests, a student can get admission in the post-graduation or doctorate level courses in the top-notch universities in United Kingdom, Canada, United States of America, Australia and Europe. Decent score in TOEFL and GRE General Test increases the scholarship and funding opportunities. This provides the opportunities to the students to excel in ones chosen field of technology, research avenues and subsequent placement opportunities in the best of the multi-national companies. The session concluded that clearing TOEFL and GRE will add to the curriculum vitae and confidence of a graduate engineer and open higher education and research opportunities in the top universities of the World. Students must dare to dream and a lot can be achieved.
